Sir Alan Sugar In The Apprentice

Sir Alan Sugar, star of The Apprentice was born Alan Michael Sugar on 24th March 1947.
Leaving school at 16 years old, he quickly went about buying and selling products, including intercoms, cigarette lighters and even TV aerials. He founded the electronics group Amstrad in 1968.
Once valued at £1.2bn it took a downturn in the nineties and split into Betacom and Viglen.
His wealth is now estimated at over £800 million and the popularity of The Apprentice TV show is certainly doing him a lot of favours in the popularity stakes. The show takes a number of highly skilled and highly paid people and serves them a series of challenges.
Each involves earning money for Sir Alan and the people battle in teams against each other.
The winner of the whole show becomes Sir Alan’s apprentice a gets a salary of over £100,000 per year. The first series was won by Tim Campbell and the second series by Michelle Dewberry. The third series is underway at present.
Sir Alan Sugar has certainly come a long way and battled hard to get where he is today.
Like him or loath him, he certainly knows his business and the art of making money.
